:: History of Meetings ::

Well some of us did come for the software and movies that Databit was suppost to bring. Lets thank Databit for forgetting it. The meeting went well and many visitors from other locations got to attend. One thing that no one would realize is that c0mrade, the now almost famous, hacker of South Florida would reveal his true identity to us. Not to mention that he was an attendee for the September 1, 2000 meeting. If you have read the board before and asked if newbies are allowed, the answer is YES as well for newbies to the meetings. We had many unfamiliar faces as well as very familiar ones too. In case you are wondering what the topics were, there were so many as in computer graphics, the c0mrade issue and of course much and much about networking.

Well what can I say, it was a dull day. Although we had 7 people and got to hear some cool shit behind the people that told their stories. As you may have heard or seen on the bulletin board, there is a disputed argument between the Broward and Dade meetings. Some say that Broward meetings are better while others say that not many people show up but it is a fact that many people do show up to the Dadeland meetings. So I say to all, if you decide to go to the broward or dadeland meetings, go because there is something to learn and not because there are more people in that certain meeting. Btw, there will be movies and software given out to the firts that come to the Dadeland meeting on October 6, 2000. (Software and Movies NOT provided by Aphect !)

Not bad I would say. I would like to thank White-Powder who took the time and liberty of joining us at this months meeting. Travelling can be fun, but most fun when you decide to visit a local 2600 meeting. Oh, let me not forget those who after a certain time, these people decided to come back and join us once again.

Okay, so Echelon was the main topic for this meeting, from guys with bullet-proof suits to EMP guns, etc. And most of the original or active members of the meetings discussed of a new meeting to be held on Sunset Mall, the following friday after the first friday of the month.

Alright, so its been along time since I updated this section but I had nothing to write till now because I forgot what had happen, but its coming back. It was another meeting, another first-friday of the month. We all met at the usual location. All of us set and rushing to get things organzie for the Dumpster Diving contest, we awaited for the judge... and waited... and fianlly waited one more time... But guess what, the judge decided to not make an appearance to this meeting, I wonder why (i want my computer damn it). Well, the meeting wasn't that great. Where did everyone go? I hope to see more people for the next meeting, because I'm getting tired of writing "... umm, okay the meeting went well...".

Okay, so it wasn't as bad. It could have been worst. But don't take my word for it, come to the meetings and check it out for yourself! Many original members attended. This meeting was as important as the others. What makes this one more important was that the fact that we discussed about the Dumpster Dive Contest! We also discussed about the I LOVE YOU worm, then we looked over the source in which ShortChange had. We played around with computers running a silly tourist information program on Window$ NT. (If anyone is interested on the login for the computer we had played around, try 12345)

Many F O R G O T the meeting ! Well it was not that bad. A chess tournament
was held at this meeting. For does of you who enjoy chess, there will be another small tournament for the next meeting. The winner of this tournament was Tonelock, who beat everyone that played. This meaning, everyone that attended the meeting. We still have many of the original people missing who have come to past meetings that have not attended this or the last meetings!

Welcome back again to all, whomever was at this meeting. We had new arrivals as we always do each month. We expect more next month. From my count, there were approximately 23 people. I don't remember exactly their names, but most of us from the past chose to show up. The fucked up part about this meeting was when some of us decided to go to CompUSA, unfortunately we were kicked out by the store manager. All we wanted to do was to check out the little computers and maybe, just maybe own a few. Well, until then, lets keep doing what we do best !

At last, a month has passed and another new 2600 meetings were held at Dadeland Mall. Many showed up, approximately 8 to 12 residents of Miami and around. It was a good meeting but not like the past one. Everyone got the MPAA flyer and we surely support everything about it. Until next time, we hope to have more than just 8 or so people. Get the word out, 2600's Miami meetings are taking place every month !

The first and only official meeting of the 21st century took place at this hacker gathering. We had an estimate of 23 to 27 Miami residents and we discuss to one another just simply about computer related topics and anything that was thought to be good enough to hear about. There were groups of teens and adults, all willing to exchange ideas and teach one another. Many ranking from elite to newbie hackers, but we still stand proud of our group, no matter what rank we are in, we still much power over the authorities !
